Full-Time Loader Operator - Crushing Dept

We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our crushing department! The Loader Operator in the crushing department reports directly to the supervisor and is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the loader.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using appropriate tools and equipment for the task with awareness of one’s surroundings.
  • Thorough understanding of all the crushing plant components, how each function, and how the loader functions as part of the crushing plant
  • Operate the loader to feed required aggregates, filler, and rap into respective bins efficiently and productively.
  • Operate loader with production goals and targets in mind to maintain project budget and schedule.
  • Stockpile materials brought in by trucks in a manner that reduces segregation.
  • Operate skid steer, man lifts, power tools, and other heavy equipment as necessary to complete the job.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on mobile equipment and plant equipment, and repair equipment as required. Follow proper lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Clean facilities by sweeping, shoveling, and scraping daily.
  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and your team.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic to contribute to a productive and cohesive team environment.
  • Have dependable and reliable work attendance.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to the nature of the work.
  • Pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and physical.
  • Previous experience operating loaders or other heavy construction equipment.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and techniques on the job.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in all weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety and job site housekeeping.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
  • Positive, professional attitude with a willingness to travel.
  • Ability to work overtime as required, including some weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to physically lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) frequently throughout the work shift with or without assistance.
  • Frequent walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Standing/working on feet for extended periods and walking across uneven terrain, climbing up and down ladders and stairways
  • Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, etc.
  • Frequent exposure to noise, dust, fuel, oil, or other chemicals.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment and any other safety-related equipment.
  • Able to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and overtime as required.
